Scope of Work

To install 4 x Import / Export Gas pipelines ready for commissioning and service by the end of November 2012

Project Resourcing

The project work was carried out offsite by the team at our Henderson fabrication facility and onsite by the APMS Group shutdown management and execution team

Project Achievements

  • No recordable incidents or injuries = zero harm
  • Project delivered on time and on budget
  • Offsite fabrication
  • Less than 1% failure rate on butt welding
  • Coordination of multiple contractors including NDT, Heat treatment, Hydrotesting and commissioning
  • Excellent use of welding containment “humpies” to minimise project delays due to inclement weather and process upsets


  • Install new Pipe lines to ASME B31.3-2010 (NS)
  • 100% NDT of Hydrogen, Syngas and Ammonia lines to ASME B31.3-2010 (NS)
  • Tie into old system during the November Shutdown
  • Remove redundant pipe line while new pipelines are operational
